Yeah, sadly a common fault for fast bowlers. Can be remedied - but it will take a track and field coach to monitor Siraj's diet and control his fitness regime. Teach him how to get endurance and power both. NZC uses a former Olympic Sprinter Chris Donaldson who is part of the training squad and the bowlers report to him all year round. Wagner swears by him and always praises him. That said, Tim Southee has never got his pace back up to the mid 140's that he had when he was at his peak. He's 128-132s now. At least he delivers it all day - I guess. Think he needs Bond telling him to bowl faster and faster again.

16 overs from Siraj on day one is simply not good enough. 20 overs minimum should be his goal for day 1. He's simply got to give his team more than 16 overs.

Will Young continues his push for higher honours is pleasing. But this Seifert and Philips run of failing is getting a bit dire. Philips does not look a test batsman to me - despite wider NZC fans saying that he will be. I see more of a hard handed slogger all the time. Don't know what's wrong with Seifert - ever since he blossomed into the reckoning last year - he's just failed and failed and failed. It is so bad - 29 is the highest score in last 10 games...including 3 ducks. And it goes back further than 10 matches too. He has just fallen apart since playing T20i for NZ.

Fletcher does not deserve to be there (Blundell in UAE, Cleaver played game 1). Nor does Bracewell (should be Kuggelijn or Neesham). But the selectors will watch Ferguson closely I imagine.

I think there is still enough time in the game for India to win it given if Rutherford is unable to bat in the second innings. Outside Will Young and Ravindra, I just don't see many runs in the batting for NZ - who will need a very wagging tail (again). And as I type this... rain.

With the batting line up of
Nair,samarth,Bawane,AGarwal,Eshawaran.....india most likely to loose games but rains saves them.

Still wet outfield score read 221/5- Draw likely

NZA tail declared before it really hurt India A again.

This is now getting dire for NZA middle order - when 9,10 and 11 show them up in two innings in a row.

NZ declared at 300 - because NZA are nice guys... and the match will be played in true A team spirit...

All eyes on Fergusson...

Nice Guy? No. If they are nicest - they would declares at 221 for 5 because results not possible anyway as tomorrow is last day.

Siraj 4 for 59 & van W hits 54

Dilruwan -(7/0/14/3) triple strike rocked ECB @Colombo
( Burns,Jennings & Bairstow)* 39 FOR 4 *(ROOT out)

India A 7 for 0 ( it's Tea )
I wonder why only update on NZ websites ? California base http://www.Cricinfo.com has game with over by over.

Fergusson no wickets - and leaked runs - so this means - these Indian batsmen handled pace...

Well done Ind A...

Siraj looks to be talented but he needs to work on stamina. Get him an athletic coach already. Monitor his diet, exercise and everything else. Because his first spells are sharp and nasty... But at the end of the day he is serving more pies than my bakery...

True on Siraj. Gurbani in patches bowled well. Clearly, way way better than Chahar.

Credit for Mayank Agarwal on the way he played Ferguson.

Always rated Agarwal as a flat track bully, but he looked comfortable with the pace of Ferguson.

Both games were kind of even between the 2 teams.

For NZ A, Tickner has been good consistently. And Will Young held the batting.

================
Ferguson 10/0/44/0
=================

Above game reminds me with Wellington test (2014) -- how much track changes in NZ ?

India restricted NZ under 200 than we with the help of Dhawan, Rahane and dhoni posted 430+.Gained big lead near 250.

We sends Half NZ sides back under 100 in second innings we were smelling victory under MSD but McCullum has different idea,

He with the company of BJW and Debutant Neesham posted
680 for 8 declared.

(Further 580 scored for 3 wits )

They ask us 430 to win we lost Vijay/Dhawan and Pujara but #5
Rohit* and #4 ( century off 135 ball) saved India with draw.

So wicket changed so much In NZ.BD too after scoring 595/8 declared lost test vs NZ in Newzeland.

Corey Anderson
Hamish Bennett
Doug Bracewell
Lockie Ferguson
Cole McConchie
Daryl Mitchell
Jimmy Neesham
Seth Rance
Rachin Ravindra
Hamish Rutherford
Tim Seifert +
George Worker
Will Young

NZA, despite being out of spinners (Younghusband could have been given a go) has named a pretty strong team for List A games...

There is a lot of pace in the bowling with Bennett Ferg and Rance. Lots of deep order batting to make up for the middle order weakness.

I wish these matches were televised. NZ has put together a pretty good squad if I say so myself.

I know where he's born. But he's been in NZ for years. Stop talking nonsense.

He is more than eligible. He has already fielded for the international team...

http://i.stuff.co.nz/sport/cricket/9681 ... in-fielder

He moved to NZL when he was 10. TEN!

You really need to get with the programme on migration issues... If NZL starts disqualifying people from employment simply because they're migrants, people will stop migrating here.

Fergusson bounced out the middle order. Looks like they can handle his pace. But not pace and bouncers.

The way Karun Nair got out, he should never again be allowed anywhere near the test team.

Indians found the pace and bounce of Ferguson hot.

Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar played well. This guy Easwaran is consistently doink ok. Should be looked at.

Still a very valuable lesson though. Lockie nearly killed Pakistan's Imam Ul Haq in the UAE in an ODI with a bouncer right on target....

Lockie has learnt he has the ability to do it against good batsmen, and India's good batsmen now realise what will be expected of them to make it into Kohli's team...

keeper Cam Fletcher I know since his WC 2012 (u19) days.He scored 50 vs India u19.he hits 103.vs India A..I wish him good luck for his illustrated career for Canturbury.

Indias problem continues in all cricket senior or junior Level as tails wag almost every game

( Jamieson 50) and allrounder Bracewell (50) push the score to 398 all out from 6 down 257. Gowtham took 6 fer.

This is a huge probelm for Ind A. Three games in a row - your bowlers have let NZC's tail wag.

5/141 turned into 7/303dec! 5/211 turned into 458/9dec! Both declarations with set batsmen.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/1901 ... nz-2018-19

http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/1901 ... nz-2018-19

The fast bowlers need more stamina.

3 of Gowtham's wickets were from the filthiest slogging you will ever see. But he got Young and Ravindra, so credit where it is due...

But if I were Rahul Dravid, I would not be impressed with the Indian seamers - and I would worry about Ferg's bouncer attack - because Australia and SA away will certainly dish that out..

Rajneesh Gurbani's cousin Rohan Gurbani is creating waves in the under 17 badminton circuit.

He won the Indian nationals in his category.

Under 15 nationals were won by Sai Vishnu Pullela (Gopichand's son)

Thankyou to Ind A for a great unofficial test series.

Will Young has cemented himself as the next cab off the rank (if he wasn't already - he now is as an opener as well).

Fergusson has shown that he can bowl mean - which NZ needs more of with CdG, Boult and Southee being a bit too friendly when Wagner shows what aggression can do.

For you guys, you displayed a wealth of batting talent early on. And Siraj is definitely someone to work with - but he needs better fitness.

Gowtham displays that the Indian production line of spinning allrounders is still in full efffect with more to follow and join the ranks of Krunal, Jadeja and Ash.

Rudderfid, Seifert and Neesham plunder 50's at better than a run a ball to post over 300 vs INDA

Bowling attack of Rance, Bennett, Ferguson, Bracewell with partimers Neesh and McConchie should be in the game to seal this.

S Kaul and Ahmed got spanked. Krunal's had better days... Good to see Seifert showing some consistency now... He was due form...

INDA A has serious firepower though:

S Gill, Mayank Agarwal, SS Iyer, MK Pandey (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), V Shankar, KH Pandya, K Gowtham,

Hopefully his keeping is several notches higher than Pant.

I would have liked to see the speed gun when the NZ A pacers were bowling.

Lockie Ferguson is seriously fast.

Bennett, Rance and Neesham complement him well.

Lockie averages 140+ with a 150+ fast ball (all ten overs)...

Milne is faster at peak - but Lockie has a faster last spell...

Bennett is no slouch... He will get it well over 140 when he bends his back... But he bowls knuckle-balls as well.

Rance is 140 peak ...

Neesham is typically a liability...

Corey was the captain of NZA - but he's not bowling. He's a walking injury ward. He may make it as a t20 hitter like Pollard, but he aint making teh NZ ODI team unless he bowls.

Jesse was not offered a FC contract...

He was basically forced into retirement (which he has not announced)....

Raja's favourite Shreyas Iyer had a decent match.

Watched the boundaries, sixers and dismissals.

Manish Pandey, M Agarwal and K Pandya were done in by pace and bounce.

Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan and Vijay Shankar looked the most comfortable at the wicket.

Sorry, didn't notice his name on the scorecard. Do you reckon he is good enough to play as a pure batsman? Destructive without a doubt.

No. A few NZC fans do - I think they're suffering an awful case of wishful thinking. Alternatively - if he ever is - NZC batting is in dire straits.

He was at his peak - a very good ODI and T20i allrounder. But he's no specialist batsman... And he's no test player even when bowling...

Free stream:

It is on Hotstar in India...

India 6.5 runs an over for 12 overs.

India is winning. Basically a home game for them.

Enjoy it.

Shreyas Iyer once again slamming a 50.

Pandey, who I don't like scoring a 100.

Vijay Shankar the man of the series for me.

Shankar played very well...

Pandey did well...

NZA blew the start of Young and Rutherford. There is a bit of excitement growing among NZC fans about Mitchell...

His 6's look good.

But INDA controlled this chase nicely. I believe poor captaincy not to bring Bennett on earlier when INDA were getting away with it after the wobbles in the middle. But by the end INDA were comfortable chasing it down.

Nah - NZL did quite well - NZ played these games without a recognised spinner nor Kuggelijn.

But NZA threw some very good bowlers at Ind A who navigated them well - Bennett, Fergusson, Rance - these guys are good bowlers. The Indian batting was deeper and more complete, and they played better.

For NZ - Will Young is officially the next player in the top team, and it was a good series.

Neesham and Rudderfid made runs and let the selectors know they're still around... Seifert found some form. This tour was a success for NZ A. Hope Ind A fans enjoyed it also.

it’s not a success when it’s a white wash drubbing.

where are the lessons?
